UMBRA
UMBRA —a series observing a man who finds himself standing at the darkest point within a shadow cast over him. A place so devoid of light, he cannot see his feet beneath him, nor the ground that bears the weight of the world resting on his shoulders. He stares into the abyss, while it stares back at him with quiet intrigue. Beyond the void lies God’s work—the divine, the majestic, the magical. Sprawling plants, vibrant landscapes, and all of nature’s charm dominate the world around him—yet he is so enamoured by the lure of the abyss, this vacuum, this shadow, that he cannot see or fathom the blessings that surround him. A series created to inspire gratitude and appreciation for the blessings we are surrounded by, yet so often fail to acknowledge.

Many of the paintings are piled up, either to mature or to be forgotten. I don’t want to say that I work with chance, because all six sides of the dice are still me. And all the rolls still count.
